Do you ever have one of those seemingly innocent moments when something happens that most people would say is just a coincidence, but you KNOW it was God? One of those "this is just a little thing that is no big deal" to anyone else, but you know without a doubt that God is speaking to you. That for some cosmic reason, Almighty God reached down into the mundane to shake things up just for you.
Yeah, one of THOSE moments.
Well I had one yesterday... at the public library.
And you know it's gonna be a good day when God shows up at the public library!
The other day, Nate and I went to the library to check out some books. (because that's what you do at a library. I'm surprised you didn't know that!) I couldn't remember if I had gotten my last round of books in on time, so I stuck a dollar in my pocket just in case I had a fine.
I didn't. Score!
So Nathan and I are at the desk getting ready to check out our books, and I notice the shelves of old books that even a small town library can't move. You know, the ones that they try to pawn off on people for $1? And most of them sit there for a l-o-n-g time, owing to the fact that most of them were written circa 1945. They are musty and dusty and most people wouldn't look twice at them.
I know I wouldn't.
But for some reason, I did.
Next to the shelves of books there was a box full of old record albums. And right in front of the records, there was a book. An fresh-looking, non-dusty, recently written book. My eye went right to it, just as if it had waved its arms and called my name.
And what was the title of this so obviously out-of-place book?
The Insulin-Resistance Diet.
And what have I been diagnosed with, which goes hand-in-hand with my PCOS?
Yep. Insulin-Resistance.
I asked the librarian if that book was really for sale, and she glanced at it and said, "Sure."
So I handed over my dollar.
And I walked out with a book in my hands that just might help me eat the way I need to, not only for weight-loss, but to treat my PCOS, help my infertility, and hopefully prevent me from developing more serious diseases in the future.
Now you tell me, how miraculous would that be?
That's awesome! Love it when He shows up like that!
