Little Victory

Tonight, I am sitting here alone in the blissfully quiet house while my husband and son are at Dairy Queen. Nathan had a coupon for a free ice cream from his school that he wanted to use, and I knew if I went I would get myself something.

Oh, Brownie Batter Blizzard... how you call to me!

But, I told Steve that I was not going to get anything. He blinked and said, "Really?"

YES, REALLY!

Now in his defense, this is unusual behavior for me. He knows how I feel about the aforementioned BBB. But he also knows how hard I've been trying, and he said he was proud of me and agreed to take Nathan by himself so that I would not be tempted beyond what I can bear.

God always provides a way of escape, doesn't He?

Anyway, there are 2 people in my family eating ice cream right now, and I'm not one of them.

I consider that a little victory.

  2. Especially when they decided to COME HOME and eat their ice cream. I went and read in the bed room until they were done eating every last lip-smacking bite! :)
