One thing I have noticed as I've been eating phase 1 is that my breath is horrible! I always seem to have this bad taste in my mouth. I brush my teeth often, and drink water, and even chew sugar-free gum, but it seems to come right back. Last night I was mentioning it to Steve, and he told me it was probably the fat from the meat I've been eating coating my throat. And since I haven't been eating any carbs to "soak it up"... well, you get the picture. Just another reason I'm looking forward to S-L-O-W-L-Y adding back in some HEALTHY carbs. But all told, it hasn't been too bad so far.
Last night, Steve made homemade pizza for he and Nathan. For me, he made me a dough-less pizza bake type thing in a casserole dish. It was actually pretty good. Today I plan on making some chicken salad for lunch, because I've been eating a lot of red meat these last few days and I need me some poultry! I'm always nervous when I try to make a new recipe for the first time. I just don't enjoy experimenting in the kitchen! Some people love it I know, but not me. But, I'm going to do it anyway because I need another option to eat this week!
